A Note From The Producer
Hello, I am Sharan Nixon, Founder/Lead Producer of Baltimore Fashion Week, and welcome to the largest fundraiser for the Fashion Umbrella Foundation. THANK YOU for stopping by.
Baltimore Fashion Week was born June 6, 2006, and launched its first season August 2008, since then this event has assisted in the launch of several designers and their collections to the next level in the fashion industry. Through Baltimore Fashion Week partnerships are available for various opportunities around promoting a collection.
The ongoing goal for Baltimore Fashion Week is to continue providing designers a professional platform and brand marketing guidance to outside influencers like buyers, boutiques, and clients. Through Baltimore Fashion Week the experience is one like no other from the onboarding process to the model line-up placement, but team members of Baltimore Fashion Week are here to assist in every step of the way. At Baltimore Fashion Week nothing is overlooked because we want the best for our designers whether it is your first time or your 12th time showcasing - we provide everyone with the same learning pallet, runway experience, and professionalism.
Registration is open to creatives from all genres of the fashion industry – novice or seasoned. Our focus is on the construction of the garment and the cohesiveness of a collection. In other words, does the collection tell a story? Does the flow of the color pallet make sense? If the opportunity presented itself because it will, will you be ready? These are questions that are answered and realized by the time a designer debuts a collection during our annual production in August.
We all know presentation is everything and included with each designer’s collection is the availability of one-model per garment. Although, recycling is good for the environment for our productions recycling a model within a collection during Baltimore Fashion Week “is not a good thing.”
Proceeds from Baltimore Fashion Week including ticket purchases, ad placements, registrations, and sponsorships are allocated to the youth-development programs of the Fashion Umbrella Foundation. Again, thanks for stopping by and we look forward to seeing you on our runway.
